Bishop John W. Hill
Founder and Senior Pastor of God's Way Community Church
Bishop John W. Hill serves as Founder and Senior Pastor of God’s Way Community Church since 1988. His pastoral ministry focuses on spiritual growth and development, excellence in leadership, and faith-based community development. He believes that this is all founded on 3 principles: prayer, faith, and commitment.
Bishop Hill acknowledged and received his call to the Ministry in 1975 under the leadership of Bishop Ernest Cox. He served and grew under his leadership for 15 years. He worked faithfully in his local church, and within the State Churches of God in Christ. While working faithfully in the ministry, Bishop Hill completed degrees in Mechanical Engineering, and Business Administration.
Blessed with a vision and desire to see other people excel and become what God wants them to be, he founded a non-profit organization entitled Hands of Transformation (HOT) in 1992. HOT targeted individuals coming directly out of the prison system, individuals with drug and alcohol addictions, and lack of life skills, and broken family relationships because of past drug behavior. This organization was created so that people could see and experience the restorative power of our risen Savior.
Bishop Hill retired as President & CEO of Steelbridge Ministries in July 2019. God used him mightily in that role for 14 years to inspire, educate, and empower men and women to see what God sees in them. Through the restorative power of Jesus, they can overcome anything!
You ask, “What is Bishop Hill doing now?” He continues to teach, preach, inspire, and educate men and women in leadership to continue to advance their spiritual growth. If you have spent time with Bishop Hill, you learn within the first few minutes that he truly has a heart for people and a Vision to see men and women transformed, restored, and growing.
He has served in ministry for over 45 years, has been married to Elder Beulah Hill for 49 years, has raised four children, and also has 6 grandchildren.
